My passion for the Numismatics hobby began as a young boy growing up in NYC in the 1950’s when my mother introduced me to United States history by escorting me on weekly visits to the store front windows of Stack’s Coin in mid-town Manhattan.
I gazed with amazement at the pre-revolutionary war Colonial Coinage on display, and once inside that coin shop, the dedicated staff expertly described the artistry and imagery of those beautifully designed coins.
I was hooked!!!
And being a history buff, I’ve always wondered if ancient mythology actually shaped historical world events especially as most ancient coins I have examined celebrate the God-like semi deities described in Greek, Roman, Nordic, and Asian cultures.
Then in 1955, a major event was announced and I as well as people of all ages began to look for a certain Lincoln penny with some strange looking alphanumeric characters on the front of that copper coin. A craze was born that lives on today, namely, the search for rare and valuable error and variety coins.
As an adult, my interests expanded into the areas of science fiction and fantasy art and my career has been at the forefront of technological advancement as I was an early entrepreneurial contributor to the development of the internet and it’s commercially available web1 and web2 based applications.
So when my granddaughter recently suggested I should take advantage of my creativity and create something interesting around one of my many hobbies, Mylathecos™, The Mysterious Error God Of The Universe became a reality. Well if not a reality, a fantasy based experience.
